Two years ago online network Chitika found that first place in TOP10 Google’s organic results guarantees you 32.5% of the whole traffic. Second place receives 17.6% of the traffic while third place in organic SERP gives you 11.4% visitors.

The study also showed the significant drop in user generated traffic from the first to the second page. Page 1 gathered 91.5 % of all traffic while Page 2 handles 4.8 %.

For this study, Chitika reviewed and examined millions of pages and ad impressions where users were referred via Google search. According to Chitika statement, the referring URL was enough to determinate the exact position of the page in Google SERP.

This year shows different results. The first-page traffic increased and now gives you 42.13 % of the visitors. Traffic of the second page reduced to the 11.90 %, as well as traffic from the third place in SERP, reduced to the 8.5 %:

Also, these results showed that even if you’re on the top place on Page 2, 3 or 4 you still gonna be seen more traffic than others on that page.
